In addition to that, these dreams are some of my favorites because I often call the people who have them SUPER HEROES who have yet to know they are HEROES. When God places you inside an old house, He is rarely just pointing back to nostalgia or memories. Old homes in dreams represent lingering spiritual battles, generational cycles, or unresolved issues that still carry weight in your life. They are signs that something from the past has not been dealt with, and until it is, it will continue to follow you.

Why Am I Getting This Dream?

Dreaming of an old home is VERY IMPORTANT. It is God’s way of highlighting the roots beneath the surface in you and/or your family. These dreams often point to familiar spirits, bloodline struggles, or altars that still exist in your family line. Old homes expose the giants that are not only in your life, but in your family’s name. You are having this dream because God has appointed you to do something hard.

Welcome to “part two” of the series on teeth falling out/hair falling out in dreams from God. Last time we covered the meaning of teeth falling out. Dreams about your hair falling out are similar, but with an important difference.

Hair falling out points to something you are actively building in your life, and it is starting to fall out of control. It represents plans, strategies, and responsibilities you are putting your hands to, and they are not working out. Things you feel called to in Christ, areas in your life you know have your name on them. You are working hard and giving it your all, but things are not coming together.

Can I change my Dreams?

Dreams from God are not final, and they are not the end of the conversation. When a dream is confirmed to be from God, it becomes part of an ongoing conversation that God is having with you. I often talk about how dreams are not the last stop for God to speak with us, but a unique place where God can speak with us. It’s our quiet place, us walking in the still cool of the day along the riverside next to Jesus. It is a place of just you and Him without any distractions.

Dreams from God are FROM GOD. He is the one who is giving the message to you, so it is not given to you as a last-second chance to fix it, but given to you to respond to it with God in the middle. He wants you to seek Him with this message so you can get clarity, so you can change as a person, and with that, you will see your dreams change too.

 

So the next question you may ask is this. “How do I seek God about what is happening and see change?”

After you wake up and identify those details, go into prayer. You can say something simple like, “God, I had a dream about my hair falling out, and I understand that I may be losing control over something you entrusted me with. Are You showing me that I am losing control of something? If so, please help me come into the church with you.”

Just like your teeth, if you do not take care of them, you can lose them. Once they begin to fall out, there is very little you can do to stop the process. In the same way, this dream is saying, “I see you trying to fix this area in your life, but it may already be too late.”

If you’ve been following my blog, you already know that dreams are symbolic. You would also know that dreams from God are FROM GOD, so He is the one that is giving you the dream. It is you that is receiving the info. This dream is pointing to something happening in your natural life that God is trying to highlight. Dreams from God are not random. They are a continuation of the conversation He is already having with you while you are awake. Your dreams are an extension of that relationship.

Teeth are foundational. We rely on them every day without thinking. But when they begin to fall out, there is a point where control is gone and the process cannot be reversed in that moment. This dream points to that same place in your life. You are in the falling-out stage of something foundational. You are aware of it, trying to hold it together, but unable to stop the unraveling.

What Can I Do About This Dream?

When I first started interpreting dreams, I started to categorize them. Over the years, I have placed dreams about teeth falling out into an “Anchor” category. This type of dream is usually attached to an event happening in your dream. What is an event? I call events the story of your dream. You could be looking for your car or be late for a plane, and both can have your teeth falling out. There is something foundational in your life connected to your direction (car) or your purpose (plane) that is losing ground. You are trying to fix it on your own, but it’s not working.

The biggest under-root is that you are trying to fix it on your own. God wants to lead and be invited into fixing your life. You can wake up and seek God by giving your plans to Him and asking Him to guide you. Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV): “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
